Give your skin a ‘glow up’ before Summer

edit skin clinic - glow up - Dublin

Summer is just around the corner...

Whether you are going abroad or enjoying a staycation here in Ireland, your skin is always something you want glowing when you’re on holiday! At Edit we have seen an influx of clients coming to our clinic seeking our skin rejuvenation treatments ahead of their summer holidays.

What treatment do we recommend to give your skin a ‘glow up?’

Our founder, Shauna O’Neill, explains which method of treatment is the best for getting your skin ‘Summer ready;’

“I would highly recommend PicoPro Focus Lens array to get skin summer ready. The Focus Lens array brightens dull, weather damaged skin. The focus will brighten the complexion, targeting pigmentation, fine lines and wrinkles, whilst also stimulating collagen and elastin giving the client an overall fantastic rejuvenation and improving texture and tone.”

How to look after your skin after your treatment

Shauna provides her recommendations on how to look after your skin post-treatment;

“To get the best results I would recommend avoiding makeup until the day after treatment. SPF is the most important aftercare; clients should be in a good routine of applying SPF daily and especially whilst on holidays. Post treatment I also recommend avoiding swimming, sauna, steam rooms and any intense exercise.”

Typically, redness surrounding the treatment area will subside within 2-4 hours, but here are some top aftercare tips:

  • Avoid swimming for 24 hours

  • Try to avoid overly hot showers and baths for 24 hours

  • Stay away from abrasive creams or topical ointments or heavy perfumes

  • No harsh sun exposure/sunbeds

  • Regularly cleanse the skin with warm water, a gentle cleanser or a light oil-free moisturiser.

What are the most common treatments clients are receiving before their holidays?

Recently, at Edit we have seen that predominantly men have been seeking rosacea treatment using the ICON intense pulse light treatment ahead of the summer months. The procedure is quick and easily administrated, with results often seen immediately but a course of treatments is going to ensure the best possible results.

The Focus Lens Array using the PicoPro has been the most popular amongst female clients for skin rejuvenation treatments. At EDIT we use the PicoSure Pro and ICON, the leading choice for skin revitalisation, tackling tired and dull skin. The PicoSure’s unique energy delivery is a breakthrough for patients seeking to improve their skin and reduce signs of aging but don’t want to deal with the risks, pain and downtime of traditional laser treatments.

At Edit we believe in honesty and transparency when providing our clients with their treatment plans and skin recommendations. The clinic is a place where you can feel comfortable and know you are in good hands as we treat you with the industry-leading technology and the highest standards of care.
