Is laser tattoo removal effective?

Edit Laser Skin Clinic Dublin Ireland Tattoo removal

This is one of the most frequently asked questions when clients visit our clinic in Dublin.

If you are considering getting a tattoo removed and are concerned about the effectiveness of laser tattoo treatment, we can assure you that our laser tattoo treatments here at Edit Laser Skin Clinic Dublin are the most effective in the industry. In fact, laser technology is the safest and most effective way to remove any unwanted ink from ill-judged tattoos.

At Edit Laser Skin Clinic, we exclusively offer PicoSure Pro Laser treatments, the best available in powerful but gentle laser skin technology. The Pro is the leading Picosecond laser and the only advanced tattoo removal laser using PressureWave technology – which is key to gently removing unwanted ink, without the process leaving any scarring.

How does the Picosure Pro Laser treatment work?

Edit Laser Skin Clinic is the first in Ireland to use the Picosure Pro. PicoSure is the first of a new generation of aesthetic lasers that don’t rely solely on heat to burn or melt away unwanted tattoo ink or melanin, the pigment that causes dark spots in your skin.

Instead, PicoSure engineers used cutting edge physics and medical science to help practitioners treat patients in a new way. Instead of building up heat, PicoSure delivers energy so rapidly (in trillionths of a second) that tiny particles that make up pigment and tattoo ink vibrate and shatter, without burning surrounding tissue. Less heat means less tissue damage and discomfort.

The PicoSure’s revolutionary technology is designed to harness the body’s natural healing processes to restore youthful skin in ways never before possible. Using proprietary Focus lens technology, PicoSure effectively converts laser energy into gentle pressure waves that activate Cell Signaling, the body’s natural communication processes and one of the most exciting medical discoveries in recent history.

How many sessions do you need to remove a tattoo?

The average tattoo will need 6-8 sessions depending on the colour pigmentation and the age of the tattoo. We also make our clients aware that having their sessions spaced too closely together does not allow the body enough time to recover, therefore, we ensure that each session is spaced at least 6 weeks apart.

When carrying out a client consultation, we explain in detail how laser tattoo removal treatment works and the expected results. Through our policy of honesty and transparency with all our clients, we listen to all our clients' questions and concerns- every client is unique and requires a different treatment plan.
